Interior glass-steel footbridge

Interior 2000 a prize in the category

In the framework of a single space the footbridge connects two floors at the same level, which have been separated by a “trench” that is one storey deep. The basic bridging construction is made of two steel U girders no. 220 joined by a glass floor, divided up into three parts to form banisters. The surface of the steel elements has only been cleaned, lightly treated with a rust pickle and a transparent varnish. The entire footbridge was erected in situ without welding and the actual building only involved footing slabs under the articulated supports.
